About DTRC

Leadership in my boots.

Independent judgement shaped by more than three decades of experience — across military service, international security, corporate leadership, major events and professional development.

The person behind the advice

Experience should change how you lead.

DTRC is led by Wayne Grove, a security, safety, risk and resilience professional whose career has moved between frontline operations, boardrooms, major event environments and international training programmes.

That breadth matters. A policy can look excellent on paper and still fail the people expected to use it. Good consultancy recognises the difference between what should happen and what can actually happen under pressure.

Our work combines strategic perspective with practical implementation: listening carefully, challenging assumptions, building capability and helping clients make decisions they can stand behind.

Daring to really care is a working principle. It means protecting people without losing sight of operational needs, commercial realities or human dignity.

Leadership in my boots

From the operational frontline to international strategic leadership.

More than three decades across military service, international security, close protection, hostile environments, corporate risk and major live events have shaped a practical approach to protecting people and enabling operations.

That experience includes major sporting environments, televised boxing, festivals, live entertainment, executive protection, global operations, training and senior security, safety and resilience leadership. It is experience gained through different organisations and appointments — not a claim that every project was contracted directly to DTRC.

What connects those environments is a simple belief: policies and plans only matter when they improve decisions, behaviour and outcomes for real people.
